Yung Dolo, who also goes by Lamar Cassels Jr, is a 21 year old introvert who becomes a complete extrovert in the studio. The Detroit, Michigan native always had a love for music and in his first year of college he knew it was his calling. “I started writing beats that jarred my emotions and it was up from that point” says Yung Dolo.
Being his own worst critic, he has tried over the years to ease up on himself and take pride in his determination and drive. His ability to stay focused is unmatched and staying true to himself as an artist is extremely important to him.
When we asked Yung Dolo what he wants his listeners to take away from his music, he said “I want my listeners to feel the authenticity of my music and appreciate the realness of it, my goal is to not only make music for people to move to, but also for them to connect with and get a feeling from”. Creating relatable music is important, and Yung Dolo understands that.
