YG SLIIM Was Made For Rap

YG SLIIM, born Daveonte Parris, is a talented artist based out of St. Croix, USVI. He grew up in a one-parent home with a younger brother watching his mother play both parental roles. Not having that solid father figure to look up to made him learn how to be a man and care for those he loves.

Through this self-exploration, he found himself in a studio with a friend who asked him to get on a song with him. When he heard YG SLIIM’s rap, he told him that he should start taking music seriously because he was highly talented. However, YG SLIIM was focused on taking care of his family at the time and postponed his music career. After a few years, he was told by another fellow artist he should take music seriously, and YG SLIIM has been in the booth since.

YG SLIIM now works with multiple producers, including his main producer Jacii. Together they have made some great hits that have helped YG SLIIM create a following. YG SLIIM makes music for his fans to relate to, and he hopes when listening to his music, people can hear his story and relate to the struggles he has faced.

This trend continues in his newest project, “Saint and Sinners,” which is his first full album and is dropping on December 10th. This album tells a story straight from YG SLIIM himself that you will need to tune in to hear.
