YBN Cordae has been lauded as the most promising artist to come out of the YBN clique. Cordae is currently promoting his debut album, The Lost Boy, and stopped by Power 106 in Los Angeles to have a conversation with Nick Cannon.
During the discussion, YBN Cordae was asked to name his top five rappers of all-time. Like most hip-hop fans, Cordae named the usual suspects such as JAY-Z, Nas, Biggie, and 2Pac. But for the fifth slot, Cordae made the decision to take Big L over Eminem. “I’ll give Big L the edge over Eminem. … I just f**ked with his sh*t—his cadence and wordplay was just so crazy,” he remarked.
Nick Cannon was clearly impressed by the choice telling the young lyricist, “That shows that you a real student of hip-hop ’cause even cats my age and in my generation wasn’t up on L like that.”
