Yared Seeks To Use His Musical Variety To Captivate The World

After visits to Jamaica along with musical and cultural experiences all over the world, including places such as Kenya, Columbia, Ethiopia and Dominican Republic, New York-based international recording artist Yared is eager to change the way musicians are perceived today. Yared Rutty, more popularly known as Yared, was born to Jamaican parents but currently serves his trade from New York, USA. The artiste who likes to describe himself as a ‘musician of variety’ refuses to confirm the limitations that music genre specialization has provided thus far.

Best known for his hit singles, I Got You and Love Affair, Yared has shared how he has used his talents of being able to deliver songs from different genres to appeal to the interests of music consumers from all walks of life.

“Music is sound and music is power. It cannot be contained or limited. My mission is to make songs for everyone, make everyone happy. I have the ability to be versatile and engage people who have different ways of life and who consume music differently stylistically. So why not use these gifts to bring joy to the world?” Yared told 24HipHop.

Yared is no stranger to the evolution of music as he has benefited from the influences of many musical greats and has honed his craft through experimentation, observation and consumption of music from legendary predecessors such as Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Sizzla and Luther Vandross to name a few.

Yared credits his development as an artist to several friends in his teenage years that shared his passion and expertise for music. The New Jersey native also strongly believes that an ever-changing music industry permits the need for a dynamic approach to music creation. In order to maximize his music potential, Yared feels that he has to generate music that serves to conceptualize all the different cultural stylistic melodies, harmonies and lyrics he has in his arsenal.

“I identify as a musical scientist. I experiment with different genres of music without any limitations or barriers. As a kid I remember singing Bob Marley songs to my relatives while adding my own spin to the lyrics. I was fascinated at a young age with the production process.I am proud to have a diverse music catalog with tracks from Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Pop, Reggae and R&B. I don’t like to limit myself to one genre or style of music. Music is universal, music is always changing. I just make sure not to get left behind with the changes.” Yared shared.

Yared not only aims to fill his music trophy cabinet with accolades but aspires to create a music catalog that will not only last the test of time but also uplifts and elevates the minds of the people in the process. The recording artist insists that while personal accomplishments are within grasp and is a goal on his agenda, the opportunity to assist the community is the gift that keeps on giving.

“I would like to win some grammys and awards, no doubt. I mean, who would not want a wall full of trophies with hit songs you have created. But most importantly, I want to change lives with my message. Just the fact that I know someone can listen to one of my songs and say it got them through a rough day or someone going through a rough patch can attest to the fact that my songs helped them in their time of need. That is fulfilling.” Yared told 24HipHop.
