Willie Bobo Releases I Wrote This In The Dark — An Honest, Gritty, and Powerful Album from Gary, Indiana’s Own

Gary, Indiana artist Willie Bobo has officially announced the release of his new album, I Wrote This In The Dark — a eleven -track collection that blends classic bar-for-bar lyricism with deeply personal storytelling.

Fueled by late-night and early-morning creative sessions, the album captures moments of solitude, reflection, and raw honesty. “I’m a late-night, early-morning creative,” says Bobo. “Most of this album came together in those quiet hours when the world feels still.”

The project dives into themes of personal struggles, the loss of old friends, growth, dealing with his son’s incarceration, heartbreak, new love, and reflections on street life and past decisions. “This album represents growth and reaching an overall peak for myself as an artist and a father,” Bobo explains.

With production from Drecyy, BuckRoll, and Waytoolost, and guest features from TSE Rizzle, G. Scott, Yoson Tala, and Slimmattic, the album offers both underground grit and timeless replay value. Standout track “Turn You Up” arrives with an official video directed by @itsClarkFx and starring @elektra_no_carmen.

Most of the project was recorded in Bobo’s home studio and mixed/mastered by Sean Conway of Provision House Studios, Ray Da Third, and Kritikal Dyverse. The year-long process required patience, precision, and an unwavering commitment to the vision.

Merch is available now at TalaNation.com.

I Wrote This In The Dark is set to be released September 12th on all streaming platforms.
