W4SH is Canada’s Next Artist To Keep An Eye On

Usually, we know Canadians for coming from the eastern side of the country, but he rises from the west! W4SH has just released his second project ‘Godspeed’. The project delivers different vibes and moods throughout the piece.

He sets the tone in the intro of the project with a full-length record with only rapping, no hook. Reminds us of how Drake likes to introduce his projects. He then moves into his trap-melodic infused song ‘Godspeed’ that is accompanied by an amazing video shot by Vancouver’s creative lab Chaos Club. The third song is one of our personal favorites, Reroute featuring 12 AM, another Canadian singer that is seeing a lot of recent success.

Early in the project, you can tell that you’re listening to a very diverse artist. You can add W4SH to the list of rappers from the north that dabble between electrifying bars and memorable melodies. The next generation in Canada must find a lot of inspiration from Drake and Tory Lanez, who has led the way in that genre.

Digging deeper into the album, we came across some hip-hop bangers! ‘Outta Pocket’, ‘Only Enemies’, and ‘Nirvana’ go crazy. W4SH flows with effortless raps, clever bars, and catchy hooks. We did a little bit of research on these tracks and noticed they are streaming hard on Spotify. Makes sense! ‘Hell of a Night’ featuring California native Club 97 comes closer to the end of the capsule.

This song has a dark summer vibe, describing long nights full of fun and bad decisions. The two collaborate on an R&B/ pop vibe on the track. To wrap up the album, W4SH again gives us a freestyle expressing his thoughts on the outro called “Yaletown Flows”. Similar to the intro, W4SH gives himself a chance to display the traditional rapping abilities that make him stand out from the pack of new-age hip-hop artists.

From front to back, W4SH delivers high-quality vocals, production, and songwriting throughout ‘Godspeed’. We are pleased to hear the approach he took in the project, during a ‘microwave era’ of hip-hop, it’s always a treat to hear an artist that cares about his craft. If you’re looking for a new artist that gives you feels along the lines of Tory Lanez, Drake, Saint jhn, and more, you should give this project a listen.
