Tifa, the acclaimed dancehall sensation, has recently dropped her newest masterpiece single, ‘Say Yes.’ The track, produced by the legendary dancehall chart-topper Kemar McGregor, promises to set the dancehall scene ablaze with its infectious beats and vibrant energy.
Originally hailing from Kingston and growing up in the upscale Graham Heights community of Kingston 8, Tifa’s musical journey took shape under the guidance of her stepfather, the renowned music producer Garfield ‘Sampalue’ Phillips. Despite facing life’s challenges, including the passing of her grandmother and a subsequent move to Downtown Kingston, Tifa’s unwavering strength came from her mother.
Tifa’s early interest in music blossomed, thanks to Sampalue’s mentorship. In 2011, she signed an endorsement deal with NUVO, the world’s first sparkling liqueur, solidifying her status as a certified Diva. Over the years, she has become the brand ambassador for telecommunications giant Digicel and Bigga Sof Drink.
In a strategic move to enhance her brand and celebrity status, Tifa delved into merchandising, collaborating with Sound is Genius (SIG) to release her signature headphone line, ‘Tifa SIG.’
A noteworthy moment in her career was the feature of her single ‘Body Up’ in the Netflix series Hemlock Grove. Recognized as one of the Top Ten Reggae/Dancehall Greatest Lady Deejays by Largeup.com, Tifa signed with North America-based Island Kings Records, achieving success with the hit single ‘Bak it Up,’ which peaked inside the Top 20 of the Billboard Twitter Trending 140 Chart in 2014.
Kicking off 2024 with a triumphant start, Tifa has released three outstanding tracks, including the empowering “Doh Real” and the tantalizing dancehall ballad “Big Head Boy.” Her latest single, “Say Yes,” produced by Billboard King Kemar McGregor, is already making waves with its vibrant beats and a nod to Dave Kelly’s iconic sound.
