The Lyrical Activist: Yung Heem Is What The Game Has Been Missing!

Currently there is an explosion of new artists taking off in the rap game. From Big X The Plug to Glorilla, this new generation of artists has something to say and they’re getting it out! Meet Yung Heem, an artist who has been going viral since his start. Born Raheem J Coleman, Yung Heem has always been the center of attention.

Being the youngest of all siblings, he learned a lot early. It didn’t take long before Yung Heem faced his own challenges. After his parents divorced and the passing of his brother Rodney, life started not making sense. According to Heem, “I was at a stage at his life where i questioned everything.” He and his older brother Roderick, aka Cal Majjorr, would go on to invest in their passion; music.

Cal Majjorr would go on to become the co-ceo of Yung Heem’s Trife Livin Records. Unfortunately Cal was falsely accused and convicted of a life sentence at the tender age of 19. This made Heem take his rap career more serious! This ambition provoked Yung Heem to break the generational curse of being and young and black in America.

Yung Heem has made it his priority to speak on his experiences personally. Heem explains how the system is designed for people of color and other minorities to be disenfranchised, targeted and oppressed forming a new genocide. “The new version of genocide isn’t physical it’s more mental. Based on self sabotage or stereotypes they already put on us. This mentality eventually will drive us to kill or kill ourselves literally” Yung Heem explains.

Clearly Yung Heem is focused on more than just music! With singles like “Have Nots” “Culture” and
“Poor Role Models”; his sound depicts his life and his candid love for lyricism. Currently his highly anticipated album “Heart Breaks & Success” is set to make waves in the hip hop community. Music fans say this will be Yung Heem’s biggest project to date.

In 2023 he shared the stage with Raekwon and Ghost Face Killah and according to Heem it was a magical moment. This year he’s under new management, with new distribution. Heem’s not just a rapper but an activist. A entrepreneur. And future music mogul in the making. Follow Yung Heem on Instagram at @tharealyungheem .
