The Inglorious Poet and Orfans Releases New Single ‘Something Strange’

Has anybody been watching the new season of ‘Stranger Things‘? It seems The Inglorious Poet has; this ’80’s Sci-Fi TV show has inspired him to create a synth heavy, rap based mystery of a track, and his listeners are in for a treat. The Inglorious Poet collaborated with Orfans on this eerie, mystical tune, after hearing some of their earlier material that reminded him of the critically acclaimed show. Taking this in his stride, ‘Something Strange‘ was the product of the appreciation of the cult favourite, especially considering Orfans‘ role in the track.

The track speaks from a time when The Inglorious Poet encountered his ‘shadow self’ in lucid dreams. Recounting this as a scary and very surreal experience, this incredibly deep artist believed that it was a result of living wrong, going off track. Reflected in the dark synths and ’80’s-esque production on the drums, ‘Something Strange‘ pays homage to his progress but also takes his listeners through the gruelling process he had to go through to make it to where he is now – and what better way to do this than by referencing Stranger Things?

‘Something Strange‘ is an inspiring, down-to-earth look into the experience of a musician hitting his stride… this track illustrates an artist “coming of age” within his craft, and within his beliefs. the song showcases The Inglorious Poet in a bold way as he unabashedly lets his voice be heard through the lyrics and dynamic soundscapes that he has created.

The Inglorious Poet had a music heavy childhood; his mother used to play constant Motown, Soul and Blues records so loud when he was growing up, and he thinks that had a big impact on his appreciation for music. He first started writing music in his teens, and from there on, has let the initial spark grow into a flame, and into a burning passion that fuels his creativity and motivation to continue writing and producing music for the ears of the many.
