Staying True to the Vision: An Exclusive Interview with M.O.B Mero

Brooklyn-born artist M.O.B Mero has been steadily carving out his own lane in the music scene, fueled by raw energy, unshakable vision, and a belief that music and life are inseparable forces. With powerful performances, deeply personal philosophies, and a growing catalog, Mero continues to captivate audiences while staying grounded in his mission. We sat down with him to talk about his journey, his unique “Operations” system, and what fans can expect next.

Q1: Can you introduce yourself and give us some insight into your musical journey so far?

A: I go by M.O.B Mero, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. At the start of the decade, I made an oath that the minute I stepped behind a studio booth was the minute I chose this lifestyle. Four years later, I haven’t stopped chasing my vision. My journey really took off when I was introduced to the punk community here in Brooklyn. In 2023, I had the chance to perform with the Storm Tour Community curated by Leebo and Astro, and later closed the year at Bloody Christmas Massacre curated by CYBURWRLD. From there, the opportunities came through hard work and persistence—not waiting around. One highlight for me was recording my single “M-Way Frenzy” in February 2024, which later gained radio play on Phoenix 98FM in England. That moment showed me that staying true to the process pays off.

Q2: What upcoming shows do you have in April, and what can fans expect from your performances?

A: In March 2025, I got the chance to showcase my songs through SN19 Agency, curated by @therealsyndotcom, which was an amazing experience. As for April, fans can expect me to bring the same raw intensity every time I step on stage. I give 100% no matter what—whether I’ve had a rough day or not. When you see me perform, you’re getting access to my highest energy, my truth, and my vision in full motion.

Q3: You mentioned “Operations”—can you explain what they are and how they shape your artistry and life mission?

A: “Operations” are systems I created to stay mentally prepared and focused on this journey. I’ve been writing these manuscripts since 2021, and they keep me grounded in both my personal life and music. It’s about being real with myself—knowing what I can and can’t control in this world—and using that as fuel to move forward. They give me confidence, clarity, and the strength to stay committed, even when life gets difficult.

Q4: Is there a particular “Operation” that holds deep significance to you? Why?

A: Yes—Operation F2YB-11110, which stands for Fight for Your Beliefs. I created it in January 2024 as a way to lock in with my priorities. The number represents John F. Kennedy, whose vision was cut short, and it reminds me that I can’t let the 9-to-5 life take away my dreams. This operation keeps me on track by pushing me to dedicate weekends to performing, networking, and creating. It’s my reminder that my purpose goes beyond routine—it’s about building a legacy through music.

Q5: How do your performances reflect the mindset and energy behind your “Operations”?

A: Before every performance, I revisit my manuscripts—especially the words tied to Operation F2YB-11110. I remind myself that I only get one shot at this life, so I block out the outside world and pour everything into my set. The energy I give comes from a place of conviction and belief. No matter how tired, stressed, or distracted I might be, when I hit the stage, it’s about giving fans the purest form of my art.

Q6: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career so far, and how did you overcome it?

A: Balancing my regular life with music has been my toughest challenge. I’ve been working as a plumber for four years while funding my music career. Things got especially rough when I was laid off for six months in 2024. During that time, I felt lost, faced scams, and even questioned my path. But I turned back to my manuscripts and my writing, which gave me the confidence to keep going. Writing became my lifeline, and it helped attract the right people into my life at the right time.

Q7: Who or what inspires you the most when it comes to music and life?

A: Life itself inspires me—the ups, downs, and everything in between. My belief that music and life coexist in ways the human mind can’t process keeps me moving. I also draw strength from the people I meet, whether it’s fellow artists chasing the same dream or experienced mentors I encounter in everyday life.

Q8: Do you have any new music or projects dropping soon? If so, what can you tell us about them?

A: Yes—I’m preparing to drop my first single of the year, “Ona Daily”, on all platforms. It’s a rage thriller that captures my day-to-day mindset and resilience. Every time I record, I feel like I’m not even on Earth—it’s a full out-of-body experience. Each song I make carries its own sound and energy, shaped by where I’m at in life and who I’m surrounded by. Fans can expect something raw, high-energy, and true to who I am.
