There are some artists who make music for the charts, and there are those who make music for the soul. Slimebawl, a Jacksonville native, falls decisively into the latter camp. His story isn’t just about beats and bars—it’s about survival, connection, and the need to turn pain into something that can help someone else make it through the night.
Before his rise as an artist, Slimebawl was just another kid trying to make sense of the world, headphones on, lost in the music of XXXTentacion. “Before X’s death, his music helped keep me out of a dark place,” he says. “The way he connected with fans—through his music, his Instagram Lives—it was amazing.”
It wasn’t just X. When Juice WRLD passed, it felt like the last of a generation who genuinely tried to reach out to their fans was gone. “Besides my favorite artist, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, it felt like nobody was trying to connect with fans on that deeper level anymore. All three of those artists inspired me to start making music.”
But Slimebawl didn’t just want to follow in their footsteps—he wanted to build his own path. Where other artists chase the next viral hook, Slimebawl chases meaning. “I don’t make a lot of catchy songs,” he says, “I make songs with a story. Whether I’m telling people what’s happening in my life, or sharing something I’ve seen someone else go through, my music always has something real behind it.”
That honesty is the thread tying together all of Slimebawl’s projects. He’s not just another rapper trying to cash in on a trend—he’s an artist who loves connecting with his supporters, whether through sad songs that remind listeners they’re not alone, hype tracks that turn a bad day around, or melodic vibes for late-night drives. “I want people to connect and relate. That’s why I do this. Not for the money or the fame, but to make a real connection.”
You see it in the way he pushes himself creatively. Every project is a chance to try something new: a different flow, a fresh genre, a new collaborator. “I always try to do something new with every project. I want my supporters hyped for what Slimebawl can do next.”
That mindset extends to his vision for Slimebawl Entertainment—a brand he hopes to build into a real team, bringing together artists of every size, producers, engineers, videographers, graphic designers, marketing experts, and more. “I want to create a place where people with the same passion can come together and build something bigger than any of us could alone.”
Ask him about his favorite type of music to make, and his eyes light up. “Hype, energetic music—that’s my thing. I’m always the lit one at the party, so I want my songs to bring that energy. But honestly, I love editing any snippet I post online. Seeing people react, getting DMs asking me to drop a new song right away—that’s what keeps me going.”
Right now, Slimebawl is laser-focused on his next big milestone: hitting 50,000 monthly listeners and getting his upcoming album to 100,000 streams by year’s end. “I’m going to be promoting the next album heavy over the next month or so,” he promises.
That next album is called Session 2—a follow-up to last year’s Therapy Session, a deeply personal project that tackled drug addiction, suicidal thoughts, heartbreak, and depression. “I made Therapy Session to connect with my supporters and give insight into some of the things I’ve gone through. I wanted people to know they’re not alone, and if they needed someone who understood their pain, I could be that person.”
Session 2 picks up where that left off. “A lot of people don’t go back to the second therapy session, but sometimes that’s what could have saved them. This album is about what’s been going on with me since the first session. It’s real, it’s raw, and I hope it helps people get through whatever they’re facing.”
Slimebawl isn’t just another artist from Jacksonville. He’s building something bigger than himself—one story, one connection, one session at a time.
