Sdeebry: From Silver Spring to the Mic

Out of Silver Spring, Maryland, a new voice in rap is pushing his way into the spotlight. His name is Sdeebry, and he doesn’t want to be boxed in as just another artist—he prefers the title rapper, because for him, the word speaks directly to his craft: storytelling.

“I feel like people would love to hear my stories in my music,” Sdeebry says. “They can connect to it and get a certain perspective on my type of music.” His music doesn’t come from a place of luxury or ease. It comes from a childhood marked by family struggles and growing up with his mom, experiences that shaped his resilience and sharpened his vision. While many artists chase trends, Sdeebry sets himself apart by weaving his life into his bars. “I stand out because I tell stories,” he explains. “I’m creative in my own way.”

The passion for music was always there. Before stepping into the booth, he was a fan first—turning to music as a way to calm his mind. Eventually, he asked himself a question that changed everything: why not try it myself? What started as therapy soon became purpose.

Although he came into freestyling later in his career, Sdeebry’s growth is constant. “I keep getting better,” he says, proud of the progress that comes with persistence. But the journey hasn’t been without obstacles. The toughest battles were personal: not having his family by his side and dealing with people who didn’t believe in him. He pushed forward by holding onto his own beliefs and setting his own standards.

Looking ahead, Sdeebry doesn’t just see himself in the industry—he sees himself changing it. “I can be my own artist. I don’t need to be like anyone else,” he says. Still, he dreams of future collaborations, imagining what it would be like to trade verses with some of the biggest names.

For now, his focus is simple: to keep pushing, keep creating, and keep telling the stories that set him apart. From Silver Spring to wherever the stage takes him, Sdeebry is proving that passion and persistence can carry you from the bottom to the top.
