Edison is the future of what R&B music is looking forward to. At the age of two, he was exposed to music heavily since the radio was always on in his house. Listening to R&B music inspired him to become an R&B artist listening to Usher, Boyz II Men, Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and many more while growing up.
Although he started singing at a young age, he did not start songwriting until the age of 10. While being in elementary school, Edison started performing for his school’s talent shows where everyone in the crowd was stunned and entertained by his voice and talent as a singer. During his freshman year of high school, he started to record his own songs and was handing them out to people he knew.
In early 2016, Edison was discovered by Static Records CEO, MK Henderson who was very intrigued by the uniqueness that Edison brought as an artist. In April of 2016, MK signed Edison to Static Records. Edison’s debut song “Break it Down” became available to all digital platforms in October of 2016. In January of 2018, Edison left Static Records. In April of 2018, Edison released his first single since leaving the label “Real One” which featured Hip Hop artist Ziggy and was produced by his good friend Chris Keys.
In the summer of 2020, Edison signed a distribution deal with EMPIRE/Stackin’ Up Entertainment and continued to show his maturity as an artist with the release of “Lay You Down,” followed by “Whatever” and “Damage” in 2021 which both were released under Sony. In November of 2021, Edison met Maria Whatley, the founder of Global Image Talent Management, who got to see him perform while scouting for new talent. Maria was amazed by Edison’s talents as a singer and overall performer and was chosen to become his manager. Edison continued to release his creativity with songs like “L.O.V.E.” in 2022 as a Valentine’s Day release.
As a young artist, Edison has already achieved a great deal. His early success can be attributed to his commitment to honing his skills as a singer and songwriter. He has spent countless hours perfecting his craft, and his hard work has paid off.
