Burgeoning brummie drill rapper DaeDaeRiu was introduced to writing poetry at the young age of 6 by his older cousin, Mello. This early exposure to creative expression allowed him to channel his thoughts and imagination into words, as he was never drawn to video games and toys like typical kids these days. Blending his Jamaican roots with a modern UK rap sound gives DaeDaeRiu such an authentic, palpable sound.

His first single, “Sometimes,” is a heartfelt tribute to his close friend DD, who tragically lost his life. His music often reflects the harsh realities of life, but he also strives to infuse personal elements and cultural influences into every track which drives home those relatable themes.  As for his name, DaeDae has been his nickname since childhood, while “Riu” was later added, symbolizing his determination to “Run It Up” in both life and music. Driven by this motto, DaeDaeRiu is surely not one to miss out on for any fan of UK drill.
