Rapper, actor, and sketch comedian Rayhan, hailing from the deep east end of Toronto’s Scarborough, is excited to introduce his latest EP titled HIGH NOON. This deeply personal project, written and recorded over the span of three weeks, blends sharp lyricism with the gritty aesthetics of Western films, while reflecting the ups and downs of Rayhan’s journey.

From skateboarding and theater to film, TV, and sketch comedy performances across Ontario, Rayhan’s artistry has always evolved. However, music remains his ultimate escape. HIGH NOON is inspired by the classic showdown feel of Westerns, with each track written and recorded before noon, when Rayhan found himself stoned and creatively uninhibited. This EP dives into his experiences navigating new environments, including the wealthy, predominantly white spaces he’s entered through his acting career and university, where he often felt misunderstood, battling depression and addiction. With this project, Rayhan’s intention was to remind himself who he is and where he comes from, while creating a space to freely express his emotions.

The EP’s sound is as global as its creator. With production by a diverse group of friends and collaborators from Toronto, Montreal, London, New York City, Melbourne, and Guatemala, HIGH NOON offers a range of styles that blend Rayhan’s love for hip-hop with emo and alternative pop. The EP kicks off with the FOREVER SOLID INTRO, produced by Mustafa Khan and Sehmim Al, setting the tone with hard-hitting beats. It flows into Evil Strings, Pure Heart, featuring dark, cinematic production by jyudeh from London, with “earth-shattering drums and diabolical strings.” Scejaytracks brings his distinct flair to tracks like Good Looking Rapper, HIGH NOON CRAY, and Universe of Love, while the EP closes on a powerful note with the FLY LIL RAY OUTRO, produced by sussvarman.

Mixed and mastered at Secret Weapon Sound by Zakari Moon and Zack SWS, HIGH NOON showcases Rayhan’s raw energy and storytelling. The standout track, Evil Strings, Pure Heart, has already inspired a music video directed by Rayhan’s longtime cinematographer and friend, Ethan Noel Mitchell. Described as having the feel of a video game and skate video, the visuals reflect Rayhan’s roots in skate culture, featuring one of his childhood friends and favorite skaters, Reshawn Zu.

Rayhan is far from done. With three more EPs currently in the works—UntitledLove, UntitledDope, and an alternative/emo tape in collaboration with a friend’s band—he is dedicated to pushing his artistic boundaries. “I’m not on a ‘blowing up’ vibe,” Rayhan states. “I just want stability, the means to make art, and chill. Music is my vacation.”

Stream HIGH NOON on all platforms and stay tuned for more from Rayhan as he continues to make waves with his unique fusion of music, acting, and comedy.
