North Carolina’s Coogie Boi Is Set To Release His Highly Anticipated EP “Da Coldest Summer”

Coogie Boi has been making a real name for himself over the past year. Recently, we covered a story about his single “Whole Lotta” making its way to the iTunes Top 100 Chart. The song grew quickly for its hard hitting beat and unforgettable hook. “I Got A Whole Lotta Money, Whole Lotta Whole Lotta Racks”! This infectious chorus spread like a wildfire throughout the Carolinas and other cities.

Born in Clinton, NC and raised in Dunn, NC, Coogie Boi fell in love with music while he was still a child. It wasn’t long before Coogie began making music, in fact he started writing raps at only 12 years old. According to Coogie, “rappers like Tupac, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and Eazy E all influenced me to pursue a career as a rap artist”. “I remember nights rapping in the mirror to Lil Wayne song seeing a vision of myself performing live”, Coogie explained.

Without question, Coogie’s biggest motivation is his brother Richard Tyron Blue. Richard would constantly encourage Coogie, unfortunately he passed away. Dealing with his brother’s death forced Coogie to step away from music for some time but he would later return and drop his biggest song yet, “Whole Lotta”. This record is the first single off of Coogie Boi’s new project titled “The Coldest Summer”. The EP will also feature his singles “Freaky Link” and “Dunks”. “Freaky Link” has already caught fire on Instagram and Tik Tok.

According to Coogie, “I like making music that catches people’s attention; The Coldest Summer will show people a lot about who I am as an artist and as a person.” The project is set to release this summer and from the sounds of it, this will be a classic!
