For Nicole Dash Jones, music is not simply about melody or aesthetics. It is about documenting emotion in its rawest form. On her newest single, “11:05,” the British-born, Los Angeles-based artist transforms obsession, heartbreak, vulnerability, and hyper-femininity into an immersive alternative-pop experience that feels deeply intimate and culturally reflective all at once.
Released on May 14, 2026, “11:05” arrives as a hypnotic late-night confession wrapped in dreamy guitars, atmospheric production, and emotionally charged songwriting. The record explores the emotional chaos of wanting someone too deeply, replaying moments endlessly in your mind, and remaining emotionally attached long after logic says otherwise. Rather than hiding those feelings, Nicole leans directly into them, allowing vulnerability to become the centerpiece of the song’s identity.
Produced alongside multi-platinum producer Mher Filian and A&R Tim Jeanneret at Bloom Music, “11:05” carefully balances restraint with emotional intensity. The production feels spacious and cinematic while still maintaining an intimate core, creating a soundscape where Nicole’s storytelling can fully resonate. Sonically, the release sits between immersive alternative pop and atmospheric R&B, while subtle Prince-inspired textures add warmth, sensuality, and depth throughout the record.
“What’s an artist without her muse?” Nicole says. “I’ve always been fascinated by the way girls turn heartbreak into identity. Sometimes obsession feels embarrassing, but sometimes it creates the most beautiful things.”
That emotional transparency has become one of Nicole Dash Jones’ defining qualities as an artist. Her ability to transform internal chaos into compelling art first gained wider attention through her work on the Billboard #1 dance record “Heartbreak” with M’Black, where she similarly explored themes of emotional vulnerability through cinematic songwriting and performance.
With “11:05,” Nicole expands that emotional world even further by drawing heavily from the aesthetics and emotional culture of the early internet era. While many artists reference Y2K nostalgia on a surface level, Nicole approaches it from a far more personal and emotionally layered perspective. The song reflects the atmosphere of Tumblr-era femininity, late-night messaging, soft-focus bedroom visuals, and the kind of emotional openness that once defined online culture before perfection became the standard.
“I wanted ‘11:05’ to feel like the early internet when being emotional online still felt honest,” Nicole says. “Everything about the record naturally pulled from that era: the visuals, the sound, the hyper-femininity, the vulnerability. I think that moment in culture shaped who I became creatively without me even realizing it.”
The release’s artwork continues building that nostalgic universe, incorporating retro phones, pink bedroom walls, vintage posters, soft sunset tones, and emotionally charged feminine imagery. Together, the visuals and music create a world that feels simultaneously nostalgic and current, blending internet-era melancholy with modern emotional honesty.
During the creation of “11:05,” Nicole revisited several of her longtime artistic influences, including Bob Dylan and Prince. Dylan’s storytelling sensibilities and Prince’s textured instrumentation helped shape the song’s layered guitars, hypnotic vocal arrangements, and emotionally immersive atmosphere.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, Nicole says her songwriting process has evolved significantly both emotionally and creatively. That transformation can be heard throughout “11:05,” which feels more reflective, self-aware, and emotionally nuanced than ever before.
“Los Angeles made my inner world feel more colourful,” Nicole says. “Before, my music came from a place of ‘poor me,’ but now it feels more like ‘why me?’ more reflective than reactive. The city opened something creatively in me. I feel connected to it in a strange way, like it unlocked a frequency where songs arrive more naturally.”
Nicole believes listeners are increasingly drawn toward emotional honesty rather than curated perfection, something she intentionally embraces throughout her work.
“Honesty,” Nicole says. “I think people are exhausted by perfection online. Girls want to feel seen in the ugly emotions too obsession, heartbreak, insecurity, longing. The internet used to feel more emotionally honest, and I think people are craving that again.”
Outside of music, Nicole Dash Jones is continuing to expand her creative identity through the launch of DASH Los Angeles, her upcoming beauty line debuting in June with depuff eye patches inspired by sleepless nights, emotional vulnerability, and the visual language of modern girlhood. The brand naturally extends the same emotionally immersive world she has been building through her music and visuals.
The momentum surrounding Nicole continues building quickly. Her next single, “Minty,” is scheduled for release in June and will further continue her exploration of hyper-feminine nostalgia, emotional vulnerability, and internet-inspired storytelling. Fans can also look forward to her debut full-length album arriving in December 2026, followed by a US tour beginning in Los Angeles in April 2027.
With “11:05,” Nicole Dash Jones solidifies herself as one of the most intriguing emerging voices in alternative pop today. By blending dreamy production, emotional storytelling, cinematic nostalgia, and internet-era intimacy, she is creating more than music. She is building an emotional universe entirely her own.
