Modern Classic 'Blood N Treasure' By Dar.Ra Carries The Torch For 21st Century Music

Who says modern music is rubbish?

‘Modern life is rubbish’ said everyone who talks about the good old days, how the world was safer and everyone ticked along as if living in a makeshift Disney world of sparkles and magic.

Every generation has to go through listening to, ‘it was better in my day’ conversations that are about as inspiring as watching the news.

Only when you really look at the times, they had their so-called day in you will find they were anything but good old, just the same game just less technology to make good things with.

One thing you can rely on, is that today is the best day of your life and the fact that there are amazing things happening today that make yesterday look primitive.

You can mix master and release a record in a day depending on how good you are at your game, just like you could make a million pounds from a single investment on an app that you just downloaded or reach a million people with a petition for animal rights.

Things you could only ever dreamt of 20 years ago.

New music coming out today is as good as anything made in the golden age of rock n roll, if you know where to look.

The next time your caught in the ‘new music is rubbish’ crossfire you can use the new EP ‘Blood N Treasure’ by Irish born artist Dar.Ra as an example of something that is modern but holds a candle to influences from the world of rock, dance and classic songwriting while keeping the quality flame burning brightly.

The ‘Blood N Treasure’ EP consists of two main tracks ‘Cure For Jealousy’ and ‘No Time For Tears’ with two additional remixes and lyrical videos to aid the release.

‘Cure For Jealousy’ is the fresh taste of a summer classic, delivered in a disco rock, foot to the floor romp, which hugs you till the last beat of the drum.

Deep lyrics, no throwaway filler to be found on any of what Dar.Ra puts out in all fairness, but here we are dealing with the human need to protect the things you love, while predators see the game and look for the kill shot.

That sinking feeling you might well get when seeing a predator move in on someone you love is a hard pill to swallow for anyone with a soul and something you grow to deal with, other than reaching for the gun.

Six minutes 18 seconds of musical bliss is worth every minute of your ear zone pleasure, there is also the banging Wel Jel remix from Sri Lankan based Music Producer Vidula who isn’t messing around with his take on this modern classic tune. Housed up and ready to take out any dance floor in the world, this is an epic re-working of the original, how could you not be jealous of this level of quality.

Vidula also remixed the equally epic ‘Lights’ which features on the ‘New Kinda Normal’ album by Dar.Ra which is also out on Kusha Deep Records.

‘No Time For Tears’ comes in at a full 7 minutes 7 seconds so value for money is a guarantee on this track for sure. It’s an epic rock ballad, with shades of Queen thrown in for good measure. Dar.Ra has the penchant for sublime music arrangements and massive themes that test us as humans, some rise and will some fall in the big game we call life.

Inspired by the Last Tsar and his final moments before the communists shot his family in cold blood. The core of the lyric looks at the last moment when the family proved that love was stronger than bullets.

In their final movement was the need to reach out to deny the assassins the joy of killing the love they had for each other. Solidarity even in death is what ‘No Time For Tears’ rests on.

The remix is also a great reworking of the original and while it chooses not to go the full 7 minutes it respectfully delivers a fine musical version, not to be missed if you’re shuffling through playlists.

So modern life has much to offer, we are on the brink of something amazing and how we look at the world and the way humans fit into it, and what music can do to make that journey even more worthwhile.

Add Blood N Treasure to your playlists now so when someone says music today is rubbish, you can shut them up with a drop of this Modern classic.
