Trixxie Morella is an icon in the making, simply put. Unafraid and unabashed with her music, it only takes one listen to her creations to know that this is a different type of person who is definitely going to make a splash.
“I’m influenced by sex, fashion and music icons like Prince, Anna Nicole Smith, Minnie Ripperton, Hoes With Attitudes and Bessie Jackson,” Trixxie said. “I love people who are famous for being openly ‘deviant.’”
Sonically, Trixxie cites a wide range of artists — from Bali Baby to Lil Wayne to Will Smith to E-40 — and that is certainly reflected in her music.
“I like how they all rap and flow so easily on tracks and sound laid back,” Trixxie said. “Not rapping too loud or fast, unafraid to make up words…they all have great enunciation of their lyrics and they are all so playful with their flows.”
Trixxie’s latest track “Owww” deals with cheaters, and features production by up and coming Nigerian-born, Bronx raised producer Jack Limbo. His free-spirited experimentation that blends multiple cultures fits with Trixxie’s discography like Prince’s glove.
There’s a lot on the way for Trixxie Morella, including more performances, music videos and visual art pieces. If you’re looking for an icon to follow and watch blossom, look no further than the one and only Trixxie Morella.
