Meet Brianna Roberts, aka VIIbez, of LSD Studios in Chicago

Brianna Roberts has opened many doors for the unsigned artists of Chicago, offering a “beam of light” to the musicians of Chicago who desperately need it. Her goal is to expand “the same beacon in music that LSD studios have provided for Chicago” to similar cities around the nation.

VIIbez studio can be described as exactly that — a vibe. From her starting as an engineer in the music industry to owning and running one of the best studios in Chicago, LSD Studios, Brianna Roberts is killing it! The “engineer-tuned boss” has never been one to let her struggles and outside influences get to her. During the start of her career for example, she said in a recent interview that “studios wouldn’t hire [her][…] because she was a woman and they doubted [her] capabilities.”

But they wouldn’t doubt her for long because ultimately, VIIbez saved up enough money to build her own studio.

After hearing so many ‘no’s’ and nobody hiring me, I saved up from Ubering and opened up my own studio even built it with my own hands,” VIIbez said.

VIIbez, the entrepreneur, engineer, and studio owner, has seen much success as LSD Studios has skyrocketed as one of Chicago’s best and only woman-owned studios. VIIbez takes pride in crafting a “professional, safe, and comfortable recording environment,” — something she felt was lacking in the Chicago area. Her studio has seen artists such as Lil Zay Osama, Polo G, Kid Laroi, G Herbo, Calboy, Lil Reese, Lil Bibby, DJ L, JTk, and more.

Over the last four years, LSD studios have set themselves apart from the rest, solidifying themselves as a staple in Chicago. As LSD Studios grew, VIIbez hired some of the best engineers in the game, which has allowed her to focus on running the logistical side of her business.

With so much love for music, as well as her tenacity and grit, VIIbez is just making her dent. As she is working with some of the biggest artists out right now, VIIbez is only getting started. She is also forming a nonprofit around music therapy for children as well as a mentoring program for young women, furthering her goal and mission of empowering women in the music space.

Make sure to follow VIIbez and LSD Studio, located in Chicago, on Instagram and scope out their website LSDChicago.com, and book a session if you are ever in the Chicago area needing to record.
