Marnei Releases “Infect” Music Video: Watch

Marnei Returns With “Infect” Music Video

Born and raised in London, 20-year-old R&B-singer Marnei drops the visuals for her brand-new single, “Infect” on Thursday, 28 March 2019.

Written by Marnei and produced by Jay Jay Muzika, “Infect” is a smooth R&B-trap song, showing us an exciting taste of things to come from this homegrown talent.

Having been exposed to music from a young age, Marnei really flourished when she attended The Academy of Contemporary Music. “Being exposed to different music genres such as rock, indie, disco gave me the confidence to experiment with different sounds and see what really worked for me” recalls Marnei.

Going on to hone her writing and music skills in her DIY-home studio, Marnei has been developing an exciting and distinctive sound with her own music. The end-result being her effortlessly cool track “Infect” – a song that insists on immediate replays.

“I wrote the track to reach out to all the people who are going through heartbreak” Marnei says, “I just wanted to say ‘these boys aren’t the only thing going on…go get your bag’ regardless”

The video to accompany the track, directed by Supastarz TV portrays an artist who is carefree and living her life to the full.

Mostly influenced by rap artists including Future, Young Thug and Soolking, plus vocalists such as Beyoncé & Brandy, Marnei is ready to share her own tracks with the world. “These artists have created a special & unique sound for themselves. It’s something I strive for, but with my own British-take on it,” she says.

Being half-Moroccan, Arabic music has also played a huge part in her life. “Arabic music is so unique – not everyone is able to sing the way they do, so it’s certainly influenced me when crafting my melodies and tones”

With French Trap music her current go-to playlist, “the sounds and melodies they use, I find it intriguing!” Marnei is also hooked on Future’s new album “The Wizrd”, “I watched his Apple Music documentary and it just made me want to work even harder to get what I want…”
