Manny Megz Releases Phenomenal Album “Art Is Pain”.

Manny Megz drops a bomb shell on his fans releasing “Art is Pain”. This album is back to front no skips. Starting with the intro is one of the best I’ve heard. This intro starts with a dark sinister ambient sound of maybe a train going through a tunnel mixed with a heart beat? Definitely sets the tone. Then a voice appears basically talking on Manny’s behalf of what the album will be about and has a very devious tone to it. This intro goes straight into the track with Benny The Butcher’s artist “Heem”. This beat starts with a guitar and then hits you over the head with an incredible Jadakiss style beat.

The production is INSANE and Heem matches that energy. Following that is the track with Murkemz which is my personal favorite. The gritty piano sample and the way the track feels makes for a great work out song. Murkemz mentions Sway which I thought was pretty huge. Following this record is the single Manny put out with ANKHLEJOHN. This track has an incredible beat switch going from this light hearted sample to a dark sinister beat. Manny wraps up Side A with “Heavy Metal” which is my favorite beat on this project.

This is art meets the gritty streets. This features two artists from Manny’s hometown of Tucson,AZ. The duo goes back and forth and I will say I have became a fan of both. I felt like Manny’s production would over shadow his peers but they held their weight and DEFINITELY over delivered. “Pain & Life” sets the tone for side b with a incredible medley of jazz instruments forming together with Manny’s infamous lofi drums.

This is my favorite song on side b because it takes me some where spiritually. Look’n like is one of those tracks I see having a heavy impact on Manny’s career. This beat and feature are far above anything I’ve ever heard and one of the best songs on the project. Q the Phenom’s ability to rap on heavy metal and look’n like shows so much versatility. I am excited to hear more from him. Obviously Che Noir and Samara Cyn’s track seems like it has potential to blow up. From the hook to the verses, the song is completely flawless.

Let the Real sing is one of those songs that puts you in a trance. I love hearing rappers rap on no drums. It also seems like it is very big for Arizona fans because he his talking about certain locations in phx/Tucson. Last but not least, “Art is Pain”. Wow. This track is another example of an incredible execution of rapping over no drums. Over all I rate Art Is Pain a 9.5 out of 10. Great work I feel like it was to short, but again one of the better albums I’ve heard come out this year.
