The Levite part of his name comes from the Tribe of Levi in Israel. This tribe was tasked with being in charge of all worship and music duties, and they were the ones who would speak to God.
The Tribe of Levi was also responsible for upholding the law. “The Levite part of my name is because what I am doing is music, I am talking to God when I rap, and I am like the law. You have to listen to the law, and similarly you have to listen to me.”
