Amauni Barker, born in Norfolk, VA on June 3, 2000 is a recognized artist by the pseudonym, ‘Love, Lotus.’ To give you further insight on her stage-name, a lotus flower resembles purity, enlightenment and rebirth. Lotus perceives that the meaning to this plant mirrors her inner-self and strength as a ‘womb-man.’ Therefore, she proudly took after the name ‘Lotus.’ As for ‘Love,’ it is a creative expression that derives from the idea of signing off on a letter.
Love, Lotus, is a recognized artist that specializes in poetry and was awarded a featured publication in ‘South Carolina Bards’ & honored by the Poetry Anthology of 2022. She makes an entrance with her first self-published book, ‘When a Lotus Flower Flourishes.” This poetry chapbook expresses self-help and love, women’s empowerment, including versatile stories about romance. Her biggest challenge was holding herself accountable distributing music and a book, based on her personal experience. She had to do this all while managing parenthood and the full time college life. She is hoping her book will top the world and get the recognition it deserves. Not only is she great with poetry, but her music is delightful and everything she does has true meaning. In the future, she even has her own clothing brand releasing also called “Love, Lotus Collection.”
