Fresh off her XXL Freshman freestyle, Meg teams up with Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign to drop the official hot girl summer anthem. With production from Bone Collector, Crazy Mike & fellow Houston native Juicy J, the song is sure to carry us out to summer’s end.
On the twerk-ready slapper Meg and Nicki deliver some “real hot girl shit” with each of their fiery verses. Ty provides the radio-ready hook (“She a big ole freak / It’s a must that I hit / It’s a hot girl summer so you know she got it lit”) alongside sampled vocals from J.T. of the City Girls.
The Nicki collaboration came together at the last minute. The song had already been recorded before Nicki added a verse following her Instagram Live session with Meg last week. “We just went live together and she literally recorded her verse that night,” Meg told E’s “Daily Pop.” “They sent the song to me and I was like, ‘This is not real life. Y’all are playing right now.’”
Meanwhile, Meg’s “Big Ole Freak” was recently certified gold. She will join Meek Mill and Future on their “Legendary Nights Tour,” which kicks off Aug. 28 in St. Louis.
