King Yanz Steps into New School R&B wth Anthem ‘No Favours’

After spending the year refining his voice and building new connections, which has seen him collaborate with the likes of Double S and Yung Fume, King Yanz is back as he looks to unveil his latest single, ‘No Favours’. Blending touches of R&B, jazz, and hip-hop, the release is one of the Finnish-Congolese rapper’s most introspective releases to date, showcasing a new level of self-awareness in his writing.

Led by Yanz’s understated voice and unique style, ‘No Favours’ looks to be one of his most quietly compelling tracks yet. Ambient synth rolls give the track a dreamy atmosphere, whilst Yanz’s vocal choices remain subtle yet sure to his signature sound. Its aura comes rooted in R&B, with a hint of hip-hop to bring out its versatile flavours. ‘No Favours’ arrives as a calm, melodic moment of clarity, telling tales of self-worth and defiance in a world clouded by mistrust.

“No Favours came from a place of exhaustion, but also clarity.”

“This song is me acknowledging that. Not everything I have is up for grabs. Not everything I create has to be available. There’s a point where generosity turns into depletion, especially in creative spaces, where the line between collaboration and extraction can get blurry. I’ve had to learn that saying no doesn’t mean closing off, it means staying whole. It’s also a reminder that support isn’t something you earn through output. Real connection has to go both ways.”

Adding, “No Favours is a deeply personal track for me. It’s about energy, boundaries, the cost of always being ‘available,’ and the quiet strength in choosing yourself even when the world expects more.”
