Report: Jazz sign Emmanuel Mudiay to 1-year deal

Former New York Knicks point guard Emmanuel Mudiay will join the Utah Jazz on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Jazz continue to improve their rotation, adding Mudiay as a valuable reserve to a backcourt led by Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell.

The Knicks acquired Mudiay in a trade with the Denver Nuggets before the trade deadline in 2018. The former top-10 pick had the best season of his career while in the big apple.

For Utah, bringing in Mudiay gives them a young backup who they believe can grow. The Jazz will try to get the most out of the young guards potential with him being able to learn from Coach Quinn Snyder and veteran guard Mike Conley Jr.

Mudiay made significant strides last season with the New York Knicks, averaging 14.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting to go along with 3.9 assists in 59 games.
