Reggae fusion is his style and he brings music for the soul to the table backed by his innate
charisma, the burning insatiable passion, and the mammoth depth of his sheer musicality; Jamaal
Marc Anthony goes by the professional stage name of Jay Shephard and true to his name has
been an eclectic shepherd of the reggae vibes coming through with some deservedly acclaimed
reggae jams mixed to stunning effects with the banging elements of the danceable dancehall and
blended with the futuristic pop medley for that wholesome and fulfilling sound. The cherry on
top of all this is of course his rich and commanding vocals that fit in perfectly to his style of
music and delivery.
Jay was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, and was influenced by celebrated artists such as;
Bob Marley, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Michael Jackson, and Gentleman- he has always sought
to mirror his own artistry to the legacy such legends left! Jay has gone on from surviving a fatal
near-death shot to the face to writing a book, “Take A Shot at Your Dreams; Before Murphy’s
Law takes a Shot at you” and winning several accolades for his work as a musician including the
Elevation Award for “Best International Artist”
He is back on the music road with another dancehall-infused banger dubbed “Honey”. And this
one is special and a lady’s anthem that is inspired by his love for the beautiful ladies all over theworld. From the depths of the powerful inviting percussions to the heights of the blazing, bass-
influenced dancehall beats, this is one hell of a tune that should be best enjoyed in a nightclub with plenty of ladies moving up and down to its affecting beats!
He takes on this moment over the beats and makes a statement vocal thrill- taking on the listener
with his every Caribbean-inspired lyric and his voice feeling Gyptian-like is everything you want
over a dancehall track. The way he gears the chorus sections towards an anthem-like and easily
memorable section so that listeners can join in and sing along is straight out of the reggae school
of legends!
