J. Prince took to Instagram to share his thoughts on Megan Thee Stallion’s lawsuit against 1501 and its CEO, Carl Crawford. Prince’s close friendship with Crawford was mentioned in Megan’s lawsuit against the label, stating that the Rap-A-Lot CEO is “notorious in the music business of threats and intimidation” against artists.
J. Prince’s Instagram post states that independent labels, like 1501 work along with the artists to raise them from obscurity, adding that major labels are quick to “poach” artists once they start getting noticed.
He added that “we have no problem with negotiating with Megan but we do have a problem with dictators,” and Prince claims that Megan “talked down, and lied in court documents on me.” After stating that “Megan seems to be a perfect candidate for self destruction,” Prince maintains that she “signed a good deal.”
