J. Cole ‘KOD’ Goes Platinum With No Features

J Cole KOD Goes Platinum

J. Cole has done it again With KOD.

“Platinum with no features” has become an esteemed hip-hop honor, one that few can achieve. Yet J. Cole has done it time and time again, proving to be one of hip-hop’s most consistently commercially viable acts.

In April, Cole dropped off his latest album KOD, and while it technically features an appearance from “Kill Edward,” the fact that he’s simply a J.Cole alter ego keeps the feature-free streak alive.

Now, less than one year later, Cole can officially expect yet another platinum plaque for his wall.

The RIAA confirms that Cole’s KOD has indeed gone platinum, having sold over one million album equivalent units. It’s a good look for the Dreamvlle capo, and a testament to his quiet ubiquity.

Though he has increased the number of guest verses he’s doled out this year, Cole continues to navigate the game at his own pace, keeping out of trouble and working on perfecting his craft. Respect to Cole for KOD, which we recently declared to be the year’s best album.
