Q: What’s your artist name and where are you from?
A: My stage name is Lightskin Bobby. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga proudly representing the whole Zone 6 aka East Atlanta.
Q: Why do you love music?
A: I love music because it has been a part of my life since I was a child. It makes me and everyone around me feel magical. It’s like if you want to know how someone feels or what type of mood they’re in, you can judge it based on their music selection.
Q: What makes you different as a music artist?
A: What makes me different as an artist is that you can relate to being where I am visually by listening to my music. It’s like I am painting a picture and letting you relive the highs and lows of being a black man in society. Also, I’m just reliving moments that happened in my life musically.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: Within the next five years, I plan to sign artists and turn my label, 4bidden Pleasure Music Group, into a force to be reckoned with. My fans will be able to purchase merchandise and fashion that represents me and my brand. Additionally, I would like to do more movies and television work to inspire the world without any limitations.
Q: What do you bring to the music world?
A: I bring soulful originality to the music world–you can feel it in your gut. I show my fans they can be confident and stay true to themselves, following their intuitions and letting a higher power lead the way. My contribution to music is by being the soundtrack to my fans’ lives for both the highs and the lows.
Q: What do you want to be remembered by?
A: I want to be remembered as being a natural-born leader who always builds the best team(s) possible. Also, I never want to see anyone fail, so I’m always motivating others to be better than they were yesterday.
Q: Why do you create?
A: I create because it’s something I’ve done since I was 2 years old. Also because I love the way it makes others feel. Art is my passion and I love being a “creator of vibes”.
Q: What do you want to accomplish in life?
A: In life, I want to leave behind a legacy that everyone can say touched them and motivated them to win in their lives. Secondly, I want people to remember that I did it my way and didn’t take “NO” for an answer. Lastly, I also want to always give those around me the tools to win in life no matter what path they choose.
Q: What are your most memorable accomplishments to date and why?
A: When I think about accomplishments, two moments stand out the most to me. The time I met my dawg, Brian (Casey), from Jagged Edge and he told me he was a fan of both my music and sound. It was surreal; not only is he from my side of town but I sang his songs to girls growing up. Another memorable moment was the 1.1 million views on YouTube my “Lil Baby” song cover featuring collaborator Faded Mulah received. The video treatment was inspired by a scene from the classic movie “Belly,” and featured some of the most beautiful women you have ever seen in your life.
