Gusto Continues To Impress With New Track “Frozen Heart,” Ft. ZayZayy

Gusto, also known by Gus Edward, the running back for the Baltimore Ravens, has been up to more than just football, as the football star now emcee, is showing us just how talented he is, with singles like “No Average,” featuring Rah Swish, “New Drop,” and “Pray for Me,” Gusto has proven his versatility and aptitude as an artist. Now, Gusto is back with another new release

The artist has this diverse sound that is hypnotic, as you get lost in Gusto’s cadence, juxtaposing the laid-back tone with lyrics of keeping it real, not having the money change who he is as a person, and overall loss, both from death and having money now, the latter being the catalyst for a lot of the so-called “change.” As Zayzayy affirms signing, the refrain, “all this money brought me scares, I done lost friends,” as the pair exchange words about not getting involved with friends and money, as seen from the problems they have both encountered, and why they need to keep a “Frozen Heart” mentality now.

“The song is about how different life experiences can make your heart turn cold,” Gusto says. “Betrayal, losing love, death, all the things we go through that can change you/us in ways for the worse.”

The track is introspective, as Gusto and Zayzayy rap about the tribulations of being an artist and making it big, recognizing the ebbs and flows that come with money and success. The song is the perfect anthem for staying in your lane and letting the success speak for itself, seen in the visual for “Frozen Heart.” Gusto and Zayzayy cash out in closed stores, showing a life of extravagance and wealth.

The video is a must-see, as it encapsulates the song well and displays a deeper side of Gusto, as the video shows clips of Gusto playing as a running back from the Baltimore Ravens with the line. “Ain’t my fault when you called I wall ballin’,” contrasting it with images of him today, asserting he is still the same person he has always been, even before the money and the contracts. Illustrating the strain football, or money has had on some of his relationships, as “Frozen Heart,” is one of the best visuals of 2022, thus far.

And with such a release, we can not wait to see what Gusto and Zayzayy have in-store for us, as the pair are reportedly working on a project together.

“I’m working on a joint project with Zay. We’ll have more information on the release date soon. Stay tuned.”
