Get To Know Rising Artist and Producer YUME

YUME, a born performer and natural entertainer, is swiftly securing her position in the music business after collaborating with Kaniel & Murphy Kid to produce songs for singers such Chris Brown, Young Thug, Drake, and many more. The top charting producer, who is only 15 years old, is best known for co-producing popular songs such as Chris Brown and Yung Thug’s “Go Crazy” (which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart), Drake and Kid Cuddi’s “IMY2,” which peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and NLE Choppa’s “Jumpin,” which peaked at #40 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

In April, YUME held a listening party for her debut single “Do It Better,” where she had all eyes on her and even hit some moves on the dance floor. Lil Kim attended the release party and helped celebrate the night. At just 15-years-old, YUME’s credits with Drake, Chris Brown, NLE Choppa, Young Thug, and more, speak volumes to her work and what she’s capable of.

As far as her background, the multi-talented artist moved to Los Angeles from the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, also known as the ABC islands, in search of more job opportunities when she was 14-years-old. Her mother, who drove the young artist to her business meetings, taught her the value of pursuing her aspirations. Yume’s mentor Kaniel, with whom she co-produced Go Crazy, pushed Yume into the music industry, nurtured her as an artist, and showed her how to record herself in order to establish her voice.

He constantly instilled Yume with an exceptional work ethic and inspired her to follow her love. At age 11, the self-taught multi-faceted songwriter gave up her gig as a busker to focus on learning how to create. Her perseverance and strong self-belief have brought her a long way. YUME is now working on Lil Kim’s forthcoming release as an executive producer after growing up idolizing the singer and being moved by how many doors the artist opened for female musicians in hip hop. The singer is presently finishing up the mastering of her own track “Do It Better,” which will appear on her upcoming debut record, which is being co-produced by Lil Kim, while also landing other collaborations with major hitters like The Game, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign.
