Up-and-coming rapper Tripple Beanz, an affiliate of Fetty Wap, was gunned down in Newark, NJ, on Friday around 1 PM. Surveillance footage shows Tripple Beanz, whose real name was Corey Thompson, walking to his vehicle when two masked gunmen hop out of a Jeep before ambushing the rapper. The harrowing video shows Thompson being shot multiple times, including the fatal headshot.
Investigators are still looking for suspects. DFG Recording Studio in New Jersey issued a statement after Thompson’s death calling the 29-year-old a “superstar in the making,” and someone who was “[g]enuinely was tryna change his life around.”
