Yung Hen Drops New Single "Old McDonald"

Exclusive Interview: Yung Hen

What is your name and what city do you rep?

My name is Henry AKA Yung Hen and I am currently living in Pleasant Hill, CA

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest drop, Old McDonald, was a cool spin on a nursery rhyme.  I’m honestly not sure what inspired it but when I heard the beat I knew I had to kill it

What is unique about you and your music?

I’m a very diverse artist. I can rap different styles and emotions easily, and truly make you feel what the vibe of the song was

What shaped your music?

A lot of trial and error honestly. Listening to awful songs you’ve created and comparing them to the good ones really helps you analyze and compare the two.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

Ive always wanted to. I was inspired to be a rapper by Eminem early on.

What type of music do you listen to?

A lot of different genres, but mostly rap. Although I will switch it up. My playlist is hilarious it’ll go from the Thompson Twins, to 6ix9ine, to Rihanna

What inspires you to write music?

My emotions, and how strongly they feel to me. I like to take the pain I feel on a regular basis, and release it into my music.  That, and sometimes I just want to talk my shit.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

Good question. I honestly work out for fun if I’m not rapping. Oh, also I just got a dirt bike so I’ve been learning to ride that.

Happiness to you is…

3 things.
1. Having a good connection with your family
2. Having a good connection with your friends
3. Loving yourself

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

If you’re planning on getting big, start learning how to market your music fast. This will help you so much in the long run.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

I have a song with shootergang kony and Daboii coming out next month, called “ain’t play”. Besides that, I got an album in the works 😉

Where do we find you music / music projects?

Any streaming service! Just look up “Yung hen” and I’m there

Any last words for the readers?

Stay true to yourself and keep following your dreams. It’s so much more fun than giving up on them.
