ALDAMAR Drops New Album "Gfunk Middle East"

Exclusive Interview: ALDAMAR

What is your name and what city do you rep?

I am ALDAMAR, I am from Manama kingdom of Bahrain, an island bordering kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I don’t only represent my city and country but my whole Middle East Region.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

Well it is my first project, its my debut album and its called Gfunk Middle East, its filled with G-funk sounds that would make the listener not just dance but groove to it, the aim for this project is that to make sure let them all listeners know that hiphop can deliver such flavor too where it will not just make the audience nod their heads to the beat but to get on their feet and dance as well by bringing thus joyful vibes.

What is unique about you and your music?

My music is a collective of different vibes which was made by a big fan of the culture ( ME), I put in lots of work where I spend hours during every phase of the project, from concept creation, writing the music, to recording, to mastering , till final productions touches, I always put myself in my listeners shoes to make sure I deliver the best listener experience , perfection is what defines me, for me every small detail counts!

What shaped your music?

As I mentioned earlier, I been a fan of the culture since I was a kid, I absorbed its ethos like a sponge, so I am kind of an exotic pet as I am an arab but still a real hiphop head , I think the main elements that helped in shaping my music is the 90s era where hiphop became the mainstream in pop culture, that juncture in particular when westcoast Hiphop sound was dominating the music scene, when Dr.dre was at his peak, Ice cube, Snoop Dogg with the 213 crew WarrenG & Nate Dogg (R.I.P) and the 1 and only Tupac Shakur. Going all the way up to the early 2000s when Eminem, 50cent GUNIT, and Xibit took over started bringing new flavor of sounds, am hoping on bringing similar vibes by adding my touch to it making a unique musical experience for all hiphop fans and listeners.

When did you realize, you were going to make music professionally?

It was a big disappointment at early stage of my career, I released one single and it flipped, and after that tragical incident I started trying to figure out why it flipped, I been studying the music market in general and the music business in specific for almost 2 years, after I figured out why things went south the first time, I decided to go all the way in after putting down a plan , a strategy and tactics for creating and releasing music professionally to ensure that my music will be heard this time and it wont flip again, so at early of 2023 I started my new modified campaign by making the album which just debuted recently on 2-7-2023 and with the knowledge I gained through my research and some god’s blessings things are working and am getting there step by step as I almost hit 50k streams on spotify, gained over 2200 listeners and 1k followers until now, that’s a great achievement for a new and upcoming artist whos working independently without any dedicated promotional budget or sponsorship or support from any entity.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to almost everything, but I prefer to listen to HipHop more specifically, as I check out other artists music, it helps me to get new ideas to form and create my own, you will never know where the next idea will come from so I have to keep on listening to new music from different artists from all around the globe every day, like I said I was a big fan of the culture before I became an artist myself and I still am!

What inspires you to write music?

The challenge, I love the challenge. I love making music that is driven by a desire to motivate, inspire, and bring back the core values of original hip hop. I’ve been a lifelong hip hop fan that fell in love with Hiphop GFUNK at the age of 9. Despite not completely understanding the language, I was still captivated by the flow, cadence and the art form. I decided to step out from the terraces to pursue a career in the industry after watching Rhythm+Flow on Netflix which features Chance the Rapper, Cardi B, and T.I. After a jest filled back and forth with my wife, I took on the challenge to walk the talk and become an artist in my own right.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

As I mentioned before my country is an island so I like to go to the beach to swim, go for long walks, walk my dog, and sometime meditate, I do watch Movies sometimes but it is not very frequent.

Happiness to you is…

Do what I love! Love what I do!!

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

That it is not just music, it is Music business!!!

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

My upcoming project is an EP, I will collaborating with big names in the game such as DazDillinger himself, he is well known figure in westcoast hiphop who had worked with various icons in the culture such as Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Kurupt, and Nate Dogg, he will be assisting me in delivering this project as a producer as he is the mastermind of the westcoast sound.

Another artist who will be on same project is the West Coast prince Nhale, he is the son of Nate Dogg ( AKA king of hooks ) R.I.P, he will be delivering that smooth funky vocals on the hooks as he got the same voice as his old man where the verses will be laid down by ME!

Big shout out to ma Big homie DAZ & the West prince NHALE!
