Donald Trump Wins U.S. Presidential Election

Donald J. Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States, marking his return to the Oval Office at 78 years old for a second and final term. His running mate, Ohio junior senator and Marine veteran James David “JD” Vance, will serve as Vice President.

Trump secured victory over Kamala Harris by winning 277 Electoral College votes to her 224. His campaign triumphed in key battleground states, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, while breaking through the “Blue Wall,” delivering a decisive win for the Republican Party. Speaking to his supporters in Florida, Trump expressed his gratitude: “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president, and your 45th president.”

He continued with a vow: “I will fight for you, your family, and your future every single day. With every breath in my body, I will work to deliver the strong, safe, and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age of America.”

Vance, speaking in West Palm Beach, also praised Trump: “I think we’ve just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” he said, thanking Trump for the “trust you placed in me.”

Trump and Vance’s inauguration will take place on January 20, 2025, on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.
