“People should read about me because I bring a new type of flavor to the industry that people wouldn’t expect from a Gen-Z artist from Philly,” D-MUGGA said. “The story I have to tell is about an average dreamer who wants to be a king from a place where kings don’t live long — but I’m gonna try anyway.”
From Experimentation to Originality
After years of freestyling and remixing, D-MUGGA decided to embrace his originality and put out his own music, despite the uncertainty of how it would be received. “It was scary in the beginning because my music doesn’t sound like what’s popular,” he said. “But this was the only way to do it, and once I started, people began to connect.”
That leap of faith paid off — D-MUGGA’s work has already caught the attention of industry veterans, including a shoutout from Lil Scrappy on Instagram.
Aiming for the Top
Looking ahead, D-MUGGA sees himself touring, releasing an EP or album, and ultimately chasing Grammy gold. His aspirations include producing for some of his favorite artists like Kendrick Lamar, Chloe x Halle and Miles Caton.
“My biggest dream is to become a multi-Grammy Award-winning artist,” he said. “But I also want to show that Philly deserves more recognition in the industry.”
