Following his debut appearance on Get Darker TV in March 2011, Compa released his inaugural 12″ single with one of Dubstep’s foundation imprints Boka Records, along with his infamous bootleg of Mavado’s ‘Dem A Talk’, and at the tender age of just 21, he signed to the institutional Dubstep record label Deep Medi Musik releasing his highly sought after dub plate ‘Alpha’ backed with ‘Narabeh’ in 2013. Flash-forward 11 years and now a well traveled DJ, Compa remains true to the roots of the genre, armed with a deep bag of dubplates as he remains one of the only remaining vinyl DJs in the underground.
Compa’s music has received acclaim from revered tastemakers such as BBC 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs and Gilles Peterson, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Toddla T and MistaJam, Reggae and sound clash legend David Rodigan, US Dubstep Ambassador Joe Nice (Dub War, GourmetBeats), Chase and Status (Ram Records, Mercury) and of course Mala (Deep Medi, DMZ) amongst others.
As of 2021, Compa returns to release His new songs “mind control” and “stronghold” were released in November last year and have seen an extreme reaction from his og fans Featuring four tracks drawing on his many influences, all of which are sure to light a fire in the dance, punishing even the toughest of sound system.
His career looks as exciting as ever and the future is bright for Compa and we can’t see what else he has in 2022
