Chicago's GB Yaro Is Up Next

Recently we’ve had an outpour of legendary hip hop artists to come from the Southside of Chicago. From Juiceworld to Kanye West; Chicago has birthed many greats. Chicago artist GB YARO is no different. Growing up mainly in the Rosaland community; an area also known as “The Wild Hundreds”. YARO learned a lot at an early age.

He started writing music around the age of 11 years old. According to YARO “I was influenced by my pops , he used too stay rapping everywhere we went. Just seeing him do that everyday made me wanted to pick up a pen and notebook.” After taking his first crack at writing music, YARO learned quickly that he had a special talent. YARO would even write poetry in school.

Besides his father, DRAKE, KENDRICK LAMAR, BIG SEAN , and LIL WAYNE were some of his biggest inspirations. Listening to these monumental artists made Yaro more sharp and motivated to pursue music. In 2018, Yaro dropped his first music video on YouTube called “WARZONE”. It was this video that made YARO truly fall in love with music.

According to YARO, “ just seeing myself on YouTube made me feel like I was a real rapper now.” Some people actually liked it and some was hating. But, in my city (Chicago) it be like that.” Yaro is currently promoting his new singles “Broken” and “Do Num” ; two songs that have gotten major attention on both Instagram and YouTube. Yaro has a style that can’t be duplicated, I’m certain he will do great things in this industry.
