Joey Perccz is the type of artist who makes sure he is there for his listeners. The Chicago born and bred creative has used his musical inspirations — Lil Peep, Bob Marley and Kurt Cobain to name a few — as a way of seeing life through another lens. Joey also knows that his creations have the capability to create the same effect on listeners near and far.
“My message to my fans is that you are not alone through anything you go through no matter the circumstances,” Joey Perccz said. “I went through many ups and downs and faced any obstacles throughout the course of this project, [including] adjusting to change and trying to find what’s hidden deep inside myself that I am scared to look into or face.”
“My music talks about my experiences so I can help someone who might be going through the same thing,” he continued. “I am here to guide my listeners [and tell them] that pain is temporary and we can learn from our mistakes.”
As for More Detached Than Ever, Joey Perccz serves as a musical therapist of sorts; he discusses going through mental health challenges and substance abuse in addition to dealing with relationship troubles. One standout track is the project’s opener “Tab,” partly due to the significance it has to the artist himself.
The rising creator does good on the mic, and his next plans include doing good in the community as well; Joey is the founder of Propherprodigies, a nonprofit organization that organizes food and clothes drives and “bring[s] people together to help people in need.”
Musically, Joey Perccz is looking to expand his sound on a global level and impact more lives through his vulnerable and relatable discography. Overall, his mindset going forward is a clear, simple one:
“[I will] keep striving to be the best artist I can be,” Joey said. “Hopping in and out of my comfort zone, and always trying to look outside the box when creating.”
