CAYWAY isn’t coming from a traditional music pipeline. He’s coming from Tulsa, Oklahoma, a place not exactly known for launching pop-rap careers. But that distance from the industry is part of what shaped him.
A recording artist and songwriter, CAYWAY makes emotional pop-rap that blends hip-hop, rock, and alternative influences. His sound leans melodic, but it’s the honesty in his lyrics that pulls people in. Every track feels like a real conversation, built from lived experiences rather than image or trend.
“I make music for people who are going through something,” he says. “Because I’ve been there too.”
He started making music at 18 and quickly realized it wasn’t just a hobby. It was the thing he was meant to do. Without a local industry around him, he had to figure everything out on his own. That meant teaching himself, experimenting, and staying consistent without much outside validation early on.
That independence shows in his music. Much of his catalog is rooted in real experiences with heartbreak, betrayal, and personal struggles. Instead of masking those moments, he leans into them. The result is a sound that feels both vulnerable and accessible, balancing emotional depth with strong melodic hooks.
CAYWAY’s story isn’t just about where he started, though. It’s about the shift.
After facing personal challenges and distractions that pulled his focus away from music, he made a decision to fully commit. He cut off what wasn’t serving him and doubled down on his craft. That turning point pushed him to take bigger steps, including working with producers and songwriters in Los Angeles.
Now, he’s actively building his career between Oklahoma roots and Los Angeles opportunities. He’s spent time in professional studios, collaborated with Grammy-nominated creatives, and even attended the 2026 Grammys. At the same time, he’s been growing an audience online, with his music gaining traction across platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Each step has added momentum, but he still approaches it with the mindset of someone building from the ground up.
“I don’t take any of it for granted,” he says. “Every new listener, every session, every release—it all matters.”
Looking ahead, CAYWAY is focused on expanding his reach. He’s currently working on new music and a larger project in Los Angeles, with plans to release full bodies of work, tour, and grow a global fanbase. More than anything, he wants his music to have impact.
The goal isn’t just streams or numbers. It’s connection.
“I want people to feel understood when they hear my songs,” he says. “If someone is going through a hard time and my music helps them get through it, that’s everything.”
As an independent artist coming out of Oklahoma and carving his way into the Los Angeles scene, CAYWAY represents a new kind of path. One built on authenticity, persistence, and the willingness to turn real life into something others can relate to.
And as his audience continues to grow, that honesty is exactly what’s setting him apart.
