Cash Money Records Back Like The ‘99 And The 2000’s

The American music label Cash Money Records was established in 1991 by Ronald “Slim” and Bryan “Baby” Williams, also known as “Birdman”. They began their career in the streets of New Orleans, worked their way up the waves of the music industry, and in 1998 they struck a distribution agreement with Universal. Since then, the brothers have broadened the “Cash Money” brand and increased its reach by launching Cash Money Content in 2011 for book releases and Cash Money Films for motion pictures.

Universal Records Executives noticed the Hot Boys in 1998, and Cash Money signed a $30 million pressing and distribution agreement with them. This marked Cash Money’s big break. Cash Money Records would achieve success and some of its musicians would go on to make highly successful albums in the near future.

However, within the most recent years, Cash Money Records has expanded their roster to a great assembly of artists who exude a variety of talents when it comes to the art of music and performance. The roster consists of great artists such as TBoss from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Listeners can sample her amazing work through the release of her latest track, Pick A Side, which speaks of messages regarding self worth. For the track, “Pick A Side,” rapper TBoss—previously known as Bigg Troye—has released the original music video, which can be found on Youtube. Ultimately, the song’s lyrics inspire a positive message to listeners, to make firm decisions and to stop procrastination.

Secondly, Abbeville, Louisiana artist, Onsight Deeda who is also signed to the label inspires many of his generation with a remarkable story of his progression from the bottom to the highest moments of success; Onsight Deeda served two years in jail a few years back for his involvement in the Gremlins gang. It’s no small accomplishment to go from surviving on the streets to inking a $1 million contract, and Onsight Deeda intends to take full advantage of his fortunate situation.

Listeners can also tune into the latest single by Eastside Tampa Bay artist, Rublow, “Rappin N Trappin,” which is out and available on Youtube, and has helped him to progress and rise in popularity. His sharp lyricism and potent rhymes have always been evident since the start of his journey. Rublow mixes big current melodies with bars that are reminiscent of the old school while deftly switching up his flows and rhythms. With the agility of a champion, the rapper from Tampa, Florida alternates between intense narratives and captivating choruses, establishing himself as a relevant and dynamic voice for the South.

Eighty8, a well-established Miami artist, secured a deal with Cash Money in 2020, but his career in music had already started long before. Eighty8 was greatly influenced by his music and Jamaican and Haitian ancestry when he was younger. Living in Miami as a child gave Eighty8 the opportunity to experience a multitude of cultures and musical genres. When Eighty8 was three years old, he would watch Michael Jackson’s VHS recordings for hours on end and sing along. His passion for music eventually took off, and he began performing at talent shows and pep rallies. Later, he joined the R&B group 4th & Ocean and signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. After the band parted, Eighty8 kept pursuing his love of music and even became well-known for his hit song “Pree.” Cash Money Records saw Eighty8 in 2020 and was impressed by his sound, eventually landing him a position on their roster.

Overloading the streams with songs like “Somethin Outta Nothin,” or “S.O.N.” Drawing on his Jamaican and Haitian roots, the Miami native converts emotional extremes into an unpredictable and distinctive combination of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and island elements.

Rapper and Houston native, Saxkboy KD, is becoming more and more of a rising star in the hip-hop scene. His catchy drawl, which pays homage to the legendary “Dirty Souf” rappers of the late 1980s, is akin to a familiar yet rebellious rendering of Deep South traditions. His nickname, Saxkboy KD, was an acronym for his real name and was derived from his propensity for constantly carrying sacks of cash. Saxkboy KD is a high-stepping artist taking over listening streams, with hot tracks like Candy (Sweet & Juicy), which features Lah Pat. He was born at a family reunion in Jasper, Texas, and from an early age, he had a natural talent for music. From the age of seven, he would rock front porches and living rooms while dancing to classic R&B tunes and soul jams with his loved ones. Legends like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and the Wu-Tang Clan were among Saxkboy KD’s early Hip-Hop inspirations.

With many more accomplishments in store, Cash Money is continuously elevating to new heights. Cash Money Records is accommodating an array of artists, and this group is contributing significantly to what the next generation will recognize as the “New Cash Money.”

No wonder why it’s Cash Money Records forever.
