New York, NY – Wednesday, August 31, 2023 – This week, the “Caribbean Music Awards” will kick off an eagerly awaited inaugural show celebrating the dynamism of Caribbean music across the diaspora live at the renowned Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, on August 31, 2023. The pre-Labor Day weekend celebration of Caribbean music, hosted by Wyclef Jean, will also be available to stream worldwide via Tempo Networks/YouTube and Instagram via @CaribbeanEliteMagazine starting at 7:30 pm eastern time LIVE from the Kings Theatre.

The exhilarating extravaganza will celebrate the magnitude of Caribbean music in all forms, ranging from Reggae, Dancehall, Soca to Kompa and Zouk, with a powerhouse line-up of honorees, performances, and special appearances from many.Grammy-winner, multiple Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping artist and international reggae legend Buju Banton will be honored with a Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic foundation, the ‘Buju Banton Foundation,’ which empowers young men to have an equal opportunity to succeed in the world by providing food, clothing, healthcare, skillset enhancement training and educational needs. Machel Montano is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, along with Beres Hammond receiving the Elite Icon Award for their respective contributions to Caribbean music.
