CamRus Releases Euphoric R&B-tinged New Single ‘Relaxation’

Making his return to music-making for the first time in five years, CamRus is back with his latest single ‘Relaxation’. Making a name for himself as an actor, writer and director, the creative looks to reassert himself as a music-maker with his first single since ‘Anybody But Him’.

With a dream-soaked introduction dancing across the airwaves, ‘Relaxation’ sports a polished, buoyant vibe that just keeps giving. Coupling together the smooth danceability of indie-pop with the sleek, effortlessness of R&B, the single pledges a textured soundscape whilst telling tales of love, peace and harmony.

The release also comes coupled with an accompanying music video, encompassing the single’s richness and glow. Adding a euphoric, dreamlike angle to the single, the video wraps up the sleek finesse of ‘Relaxation’.

“I’m so excited to get this single out into the world, man. ‘Relaxation’ is about wishing and dreaming you were somewhere else, with someone else. It’s a celebration of the people/person that brings you calm; the special ones that you can have the best time chilling next to while saying nothing at all.”

Adding, “For some reason when it came to the visuals for the song I couldn’t get my love for Wes Anderson’s style out of my head, so the music video is loosely inspired by it – beautiful, symmetrical, colorful wide shots with a hint of awkward – then for verse 2 it switches to a very different daydream vibe, almost Michael & Janet Jackson SCREAM inspired but more abstract, as dreams and wishes of the mind are vast and change so I wanted to reflect that. As a filmmaker I’ve also been dying to shoot something on film instead of digital too, so I’m so hyped to say that we shot the music video on 35mm film and some very special portrait stock – especially since Ryan Coogler has so many people excited about the beauty of shooting on film right now because of his movie “Sinners!” I’m so proud of what my DP Quinn Feldman, my colourist Mitch Paulson, and the rest of my super team small crew accomplished for it.”
