Bronson Scott Unveils indie-Tinged Hip-Hop Track ‘Mistakes’

Combining emphatic verses and stripped-back, indie soundscapes, Bronson Scott is back with his latest single ‘Mistakes’. In his second release of the year, Scott pivots from his own experiences to forge a track that feels just as euphoric as it does heartfelt.

An alluring guitar arpeggio eases the track into action before Bronson Scott’s emphatic vocal delivery takes hold of the airwaves. Landing at the crossroads of lo-fi, washed-out indie and hip-hop, ‘Mistakes’ pays homage to classic soul influences as well as timeless rap artists which inspire his lyrical maturity and artistic consciousness.

I was coming to grips with failure. I was starting to accept that maybe I’d just have a regular job and a regular life and at least I wouldn’t be struggling or starving and maybe that was enough. Maybe I didn’t need this epic career in music. It was still sad though because I loved music and knew I’d always write songs. I was really just reflecting on every way that I fucked up over the past decade. Drinking too much, dating the wrong women, wasting time–I had no one to blame but me. All the time we waste in our youth. It’s hard not to think, “What if I did it differently?

Hailing from Southern California, Bronson Scott is an indie-rap artist who pushes the boundaries of contemporary music-making. Picking up the guitar after lessons from his father, in his teenage years, Bronson became immersed in the emotional storytelling of rap and hip-hop. After the passing of his father in 2022, Bronson returned to the guitar, making it a key part of his unique sound and approach to rap music.

For years, Scott felt like he was living a double life – working a corporate job by day and performing at house parties by night. Constantly being on the move with his job developed a deepening sense of loneliness for Bronson. Failed connections and fleeting romances shaped his understanding and helped him progress as an artist. These experiences, and his reflections on days passed, became key informants for his writing and have helped to shape his upcoming EP All Plants Go To Heaven.
