Blicka D’ZHAN: The Burgundy Bandit is HERE!

Meet Blicka D’ZHAN, pronounced like Dijon mustard, an artist who carries Brooklyn energy with Albany roots. You can find him on Instagram at @theeeburgundybandiitt, where he is steadily building his presence while showcasing his journey in music.

Early Life and First Steps into Music

Blicka was born in Albany, New York, but raised in Brooklyn. Growing up, music was always close to home. His father was a DJ, and between his parents and grandparents, he was surrounded by a mix of sounds from different eras and genres. He developed his own taste early, gravitating toward whatever resonated with him.

Music became more than just background noise, it became therapy. As a kid and teenager navigating mental, family, school, and relationship struggles, he found that writing and recording allowed him to let go and heal. That realization, combined with God’s gift, sparked a creative drive that continues to push him forward.

He started making music in 2015 as a high school sophomore. Back then, he admits he was not polished yet. The writing, formatting, and delivery took time to refine. But with friends and family in his corner offering real feedback, he grew. Slowly but surely, his flows, wordplay, and confidence began to sharpen.

Finding His Lane

Blicka primarily makes hip hop and rap, though he mixes in drill records and even love songs when the inspiration hits. He once took guitar lessons in elementary school before moving back to Albany, but these days his main instruments are his voice, his pen, and his perspective.

His top influences explain a lot about his style. From Migos he picked up the power of adlibs. Chloe x Halle showed him the beauty of harmonies. Lil Wayne sharpened his appreciation for clever wordplay. Kendrick Lamar inspired him to deliver a message through his music. And Young Thug opened his mind to sound and originality.

The Grind and the Growth

The past decade has been a steady climb. Even without massive support, Blicka has pushed forward and released an impressive catalog. To date, he has dropped 13 projects, six solo and seven collaborations. His discography includes everything from EPs to mixtapes to full length albums, like When I Started Grossin, Lil Gro D’ZHAN, and his bold 2023 release The Burgundy Bandit!!!!! Most recently, he put out When I Started GRO$$IN 2 Deluxe in 2025.

Collaboration has been a big part of his growth. He has worked with artists like Nah MilliMeter, Reese Visa, Backdoor Slime, JFRMDAPROJECT, BIG GRO WAVY, SeanDaDon, and LLuv. These partnerships fuel his passion, since he has always loved hearing different artists’ styles come together on a track.

A Memorable Moment

One of the highlights of Blicka’s career so far came unexpectedly. At an event hosted by Backdoor Slime and JFRMDAPROJECT, he originally came just to support. When one of the scheduled performers did not show, he got the call to step in. It ended up being only his second live performance, but the energy in the room was electric. Even without cameras capturing it, the connection with the crowd, the DJ, and fellow artists made it unforgettable.

What is Next

This year alone, Blicka released three projects, including #FREENAH with Nah MilliMeter, which is already buzzing on YouTube and SoundCloud. While he does not have another big project lined up just yet, he is always writing, always plotting, and always dropping singles to hint at what is coming. Fans can expect new music in the weeks ahead as he continues working with producers and building toward the next wave.

The Bigger Picture

For Blicka D’ZHAN, this is still just the beginning. Ten years in, he has weathered the rough patches, grown through the quiet grind, and found his voice. With every song, every feature, and every performance, he is proving that his path is one guided by passion, persistence, and faith.

The Burgundy Bandit is here, and his story is only just unfolding.
