Life can be hectic, and for some people, the only solace they can find is when they listen to music. Blac Francis is a person who functions like that, but what makes him stand out from the crowd is that he creates the soundtrack for those moments. His latest single “Dial Up” is, in his own words, meant to be listened to “during sunset hours, when the sun is going down and you start to reflect on things.”
Lyrically, the Virginia native was inspired by a girl that helps him slow down his thoughts and actions. As for his sonic influences, he cites Kanye West and The Weeknd as his go-tos.
“I pull from a lot of different artists,” said Blac Francis. “The Kanye side is mainly because of how I process my voice, but lyrically and melodically I do tap into The Weeknd depending on the song.”
Production wise, Blac Francis stumbled upon Yanaico Beats on YouTube, but all of the recording, mixing and mastering was handled by the man himself, showcasing that his talent extends beyond songwriting and performing.
The next question is: how does one follow up a song of such quality? For Blac Francis, the answer is not what you may think.
“Holograms man,” he said. “Me and my guy Daniel Green in 2021 built this hologram to help promote a project that I did back then, and we had a lot of success with it…So we’ve been wanting to make it bigger and crazier.”
It’s clear that Blac Francis is an innovative creator with a bright future ahead of him. The promised land is calling, and this man has clearly picked up.
