Big Jon: Baltimore’s Hip Hop Talent Making Waves and Building a National Presence

Baltimore, MD – Baltimore has always been a city known for producing talented and authentic voices in Hip Hop, and Big Jon, born Jonathan Harris, is quickly proving he belongs among them. At 32 years old, Big Jon is transforming a lifelong passion for music into a professional career, combining raw talent, dedication, and an unwavering drive to make his mark on the industry.

Big Jon’s love for music started early. He began writing songs at just 16 years old, performing for high school audiences and his church community, experiences that gave him confidence and helped him develop his stage presence. While he spent several years working in broadcasting, the pull of music never faded. Recognizing his true calling, he returned to his musical roots with renewed focus and determination, ready to share his story with the world.

That commitment came to life with the release of his debut EP, “Here I Come,” on January 1st, 2025, across all major streaming platforms. The six-track project showcased Big Jon’s unique sound, blending authentic Hip Hop energy with personal storytelling. The EP quickly became the foundation for a busy and productive year, setting the stage for his rise in the music scene.

Following the EP’s release, Big Jon dedicated himself to performing live and expanding his reach. He graced open mic stages across Baltimore, participated in interviews for podcasts, and was featured in multiple published articles highlighting his growing influence. He also appeared on Chicago internet radio station 77.3, helping his music reach audiences well beyond his hometown.

Big Jon didn’t stop there. In September 2025, he recorded the single “Level Up” at Lounge Studios in New York City, a track that reflected his drive to grow and take risks in his artistry. Returning to Baltimore in October, he recorded “Don’t Mess With the Flock,” a bold diss track targeting the Baltimore Ravens organization for their struggles and playoff failures during the Lamar Jackson era, which was released on November 5th, 2025. His momentum continued with “Persona”, released on December 24th, 2025, and “The Flames”, which dropped January 28th, 2026, demonstrating both his versatility and commitment to delivering new music consistently.

Behind the music, Big Jon’s journey is deeply personal. His passion was initially inspired by his mother, but in October 2025, his motivation intensified following the passing of his grandmother at 89 due to kidney failure. The two shared a close bond, and her loss became a pivotal moment in his life. After her funeral in November, he made a promise to continue pursuing his dreams, ensuring her legacy lives on through his music. Big Jon’s perseverance, dedication, and resilience are now central to his career, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Looking ahead, Big Jon is actively working to hire a manager and agent to expand his exposure and build a national presence. His goals include touring across the United States and collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, including Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, Megan Thee Stallion, Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Imagine Dragons. These ambitions highlight his vision for crossing genres and creating hits with wide appeal.

Currently, Big Jon is focused on new projects, including the song “Cosmos,” which is in production, and “Reload,” a single scheduled to be recorded in March in Los Angeles, California. Fans can stay up-to-date with his releases, performances, and behind-the-scenes content at www.bigjonmusic.com.
