Beyoncé Reps Red, White and Blue Thom Browne to Announce Team USA

Beyoncé knows it best: go big or go home. For her surprise contribution to the Olympic Opening Ceremony, she went bigger than ever to make her home country proud, donning custom top-to-bottom custom Thom Browne to introduce Team USA.

Queen Bey hit the screen during the primetime Opening Ceremony to give the 592 U.S. athletes the warm welcome they deserve, wearing a silk taffeta varsity opera coat in hues of red, white and blue.

“We wanna welcome you to the 2024 Olympic games on behalf of Team USA,” she opens, as COWBOY CARTER track “YAYA” picks up in the background.

“Get a look at America, y’all,” she continues, as the athletes – gymnastics, track and field, swimming, and basketball, to name a few – flash across the screen.

“These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation. All rooting together for them … We’ve got big dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave up everything for one shot, and made it.”
